Jalan kehidupan

Hey there.....how are you doing? Hope you have wonderful weekend!

Today I want to share a song that's been ringing in my heart and head as I was thinking about the possibility to go on a mission trip in Arizona, serving the white mountain apache people. Our pastor said that this year we will focus on children's misnistry, kids EE......sooooo excited!

Anyways, it brings back my memories years back to when I was in middle school. I went to an orphanage with my Sunday School teacher to celebrate Christmas together with the orphans. This orphanage is managed by a Christian organization, so all the kids are taught about the word of God and about Jesus.

Me and my friends went there, sang songs, and distributed some love gifts. The orphans, sang this song:

Jalan Kehidupan

Sepanjang jalan kehidupan ini / (Along this path of life)
Suka duka silih berganti / (joy and tears coming back and forth)
Janganlah takut bila badai menerpa / (Don't be afraid when storm comes)
Percayalah Yesus slalu menjaga / (Trust that Jesus will take care)

Dia tak akan pernah tinggalkan ku / (He will never leave me alone)
Selalu hadir dalam hidupku / (He will always be present in my life)
Dia menuntunku, angkat bila ku jatuh / (He holds my hands, picks me up when I fall)
Dia sungguh berarti bagiku / (He is so precious in my life)

Hari ke hari trasa kasihNya / (Day by days I feel His love)
FirmanNya air kehidupan / (His word is a fountain of life)
Sukacita yang Dia berikan mengalir di dalam hatiku / (the joy that he brings flows in my heart)

Oh betapa indahnya bila slalu bersamaNya / (Oh how wonderful to always be with Him)
Damai sejahtera dalam hidupku / (There is peace in my life)
Hanya Yesus yang sanggup hapuskan air mata / (There's only Jesus who can wipe away tears)
Jadikan hidup ini berarti / (and brought meaning to life)

As I listened to them singing the song, tears started to fall down on my eyes....(Yes, I still vividly remember until now, that's how powerful their singing was). I remember I was rebuked that I didn't see Jesus as my focus and anchor. God had blessed me with so much: loving parents (but I always complains that they don't love me enough), wonderful siblings (but I always quarrel with them), and the list go on. It humbles me to see the heart of these kids from the orphanage. It blessed my heart at that time.....and as I remember that encounter I still feel blessed.

I want the Apaches to have a similar song that they can sing. I wish for the Apache kids to be able to tell others that Jesus can wipe away tears and bring meaning to life. That we can trust Jesus: he died on the cross for us, because he loves us, what else will he hold back?

Back to the orphanage visit story: we spend the rest of the day with the kids, they showed us their rooms and can you guess what I found? Crosses, Bibles, our daily breads (renungan harian) =)

What a powerful testimony coming from these kids!
